Room: Book Review
Room - Emma Donogue
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
written by Nadya Statham
Why did I choose to read it?
I chose Room, because it was on my literature list. I read the first page before starting the book and the writing style was really my favourite. The book is written from the first person perspective of the five-year-old-boy named Jack. The reader experiences everything trough his eyes and I love that childish writing.
Short Summary
The book is about Jack who lives with his mother in a Room. He was born there and never knew anything except the Room, later on he finds out his mother was actually kidnapped by the man who brings them food every Sunday and has been there for seven years. He refuses to believe there's a whole world outside Room, but after a while the book takes a drastic turn.
Must-Read?
The writing style is very beautiful along with the development of the characters. I think this is a book every booklover should've read at least once <3 I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery, adventure and emotional stories. This book is just a must-read!
Other
There's also a movie based on this book by the same name which you can find on Netflix. Brie Larson and the movie itself won several awards for the movie, which they all deserved. I haven't watched the movie yet, but the book is worth it.
